Different dimensions in life

“Dr Lau is not only a good doctor, he is also a good mentor. He shared a lot of his past experiences with me during our meetings, such as his voluntary work as chairperson of Make-a-Wish Hong Kong and his participation in various organisations.

His sharing indeed inspired me to become an all-round person. It is good to excel in one area, but it will even better if you can excel in multiple fields. You never know your limits until you try to stretch them. I am so fortunate to have had Dr Lau as my mentor, who inspired me a lot in our meetings.

He also gave me useful advice towards life, about my studies, career and community service. His advice helped me when I got a little confused as I entered my second year of university life. He also showed me how to have good manners in a conversation or at a lunch.” Sunny Lai King Chung (BSc[MB&B] Year 2)

“Dr Lau is friendly and helpful. He gave me a lot of information on and shared his experience working with public welfare associations and charities. He also inspired me how to have better time management, and a balance of work and life.” Rachel She Sirui (BSocSc Year 2)

In the first photo, Sunny and Rachel had lunch with Dr Lau in Central when they presented him with a mentorship scarf as a welcome gift.  The second photo was taken at Dr Lau’s medical centre in Central with his son. Sunny gave his mentor some souvenirs from Japan and in return Dr Lau gave him a beautiful photo book.
