[Boston] Heartwarming Guidance

Leroy Xu (BSc(ActuarSc)) “My mentor, Dr. Venus Huang, has been incredibly supportive in helping me adapt to life in Boston. Living in a new city with a different climate and culture can be overwhelming, but she offered me practical advice on everything from managing the cold weather to navigating public transportation. She also recommended local viewpoints and places to eat that cater to international students, which made me feel more at home and connected to Hong Kong. Her guidance really helped me feel grounded during my first few months here.

Dr. Huang and her husband Jerry are both HKU alumni and mentors in the New England area. They have three mentees this semester. We were invited to a home gathering on January 11. We ate hotpot and had in-depth conversations about local life, life in Hong Kong, and other fun topics. We took a photo after the dinner. We had a really nice evening.“
