Brand new experiences

“Rumiko is a really sweet and open-minded lady. I love how, despite our cultural and age differences, she tries to give me advice based on her experiences, adapting it to suit my situation. Despite her having a completely different academic background from my major she has been a great help to me. Thanks to her, I have been able to experience other artistic environments. She encourages me to find something I am truly passionate about and this has had a great impact on me. And thanks to her I have made up my mind to engage more in artistic activities, something I am passionate about but had never thought I could explore further. She invited me to dinner with her partners from More Than Musical, an art company she founded, which was a wonderful experience.” Francys Adriana Rocha Blandon, BA(ArchStud) Year 1

“My mentor is very friendly, positive and welcoming as she would invite us to performances or events. I feel like I have been exposed to a lot of new environments. Through my mentor, I have met people from different backgrounds and have new experiences. She invited me to her company’s production “Kiss of Tosca” and it was a brilliant experience. I used to have reservations about opera and thought it would not be something I would enjoy, but after watching her company’s revised version of the show, I was captivated by it. This showed me that just a tweak, something I once thought was not for me, can be so interesting.” Ngoi Wai Yeng, BDS Year 3
