One big family

“Through my mentor, Dr Yu Wai Cho, I have had the privilege of meeting a lot of incredible people including other mentors and mentee (a big group – like a big family) across different fields and ages. I also got to know Dr Yu’s close friends and families, who are all educated professionals from whom I have learnt a lot, such as a different lifestyles, insights into different career fields, and hobbies. At one gathering Dr Yu invited me to I also met a mentor whose work relates to my studies and she invited me to work on a small project from which I gained hands-on working experience.

Dr Yu is very generous and easy-going, and we share some similar interests that we could talk together about. I love talking to him, and getting to know his thoughts regarding many things, such as social issues, from another perspective. He is open-minded and willing to share his opinions but will not force young people to accept them! It’s always fun to meet him and his friends.”
