[London] Not confining yourself

“I learnt about starting a business and living abroad from my mentor, Winne Mak, and this inspired me to explore different career options and not to confine myself to my own academic discipline. Winnie  (right), another mentee Lamy (left) and I went for yum cha in London’s Chinatown. We had dim sum, which Lamy and I had been craving for ages. We shared about the exchange experience and got to know about Ms Mak’s career path and the choice of living abroad.” Samantha Chuang, BA Year 3

“I found life in the UK very different from that in Hong Kong, so I learnt from Winnie how to adapt to this new life. She immigrated to the UK some time ago and established her own business. The UK is also where she met her husband and had a family. It was quite useful when she shared how she overcame the culture shock and managed to enjoy life, and became the successful and happy person she is now.” Lamy Chiu, BA Year 3
