HKU mentors and mentees took an exclusive guided tour around the Drainage Services Department’s newest Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Facilities on June 10, 2017. DSD’s engineers and HKU alumni Ir Leung Cheuk Lun and Ir Tommy Tong introduced the technologies and mechanisms that make use of the ground beneath us for flood prevention on Hong Kong Island while conserving the space above for recreation use. Eye-opening for everyone!
