Being motivated by mentor

“My mentor is Rosa, a very friendly and accomplished lawyer. At our meeting, we talked a lot about studying and working in Singapore, her career, and my future plans. Since I was not very sure about whether to do postgraduate studies or go to work, she shared her stories about pursuing a postgraduate degree at Cambridge University and how she completed a law degree starting from zero. Her story was very inspiring and I felt very motivated to try different opportunities. It was very interesting to listen to stories about an industry I wasn’t so familiar with and learn from her experiences.

Rosa is very easy to talk to, and she listened to my concerns patiently and gave me a lot of new insights into my questions. Despite her busy schedule, she managed to schedule time for me as soon as I arrived in Singapore and introduced me to the local cuisine and cultures. She also told me a lot of stories and episodes about working as a lawyer in Singapore and other places. Overall, it was a very good experience for my overseas exchange in Singapore. I would love to thank Rosa for her kind advice.”
